This year there is so much to be thankful for, but I am mindful of the turmoil in the world right now and I pray for peace, good will, and God's blessings for all!

My mom, Lori De Federicis turned 85 years old this May and we celebrated first with a party at our house and then 2 days later a surprise Night at the Races party!  So much fun - and it was great celebrating with a room full of her closest family and friends.

This was a year of firsts for us - and we had our first "Wednesday Night Happy Hours" during the summer months - with Cousin Michael Casey coming all the way from Texas to be one of our first guest bartenders and a surprise guest at my mother's birthday parties.

The Happy Hours continued with a new guest bartender and specialty drink each week and a theme to go along with it.  Everyone joined the fun as week after week they dressed for the theme - "Cinco de Mayo, Cowboys and Indians, Pajama Night, Rock 'n Roll, Italian Night, Polish Night, Irish Night, just to name a few.

It was great to see my nieces Jessica and Kelly (who dressed as Spaghetti and Meatballs for Italian Night) at the Wednesday Happy Hours too!

All the cousins joined in the fun!

And it was a year of firsts for the Grandchildren too.  Joey and Juliet joined me for the Italian Summer Camp at Daemen College, and for the first time Joey moved from "camper" to "Junior Assistant".  This was Juliet's first year attending camp, and I am so proud of her every time she says - "Come stai, Nonna?"  Just when you think they weren't paying attention!

And... this was Juliet's first year in Kindergarten while her big sister Hope started her first year in College.

As usual, everything is a family affair with all members of the family coming to the bus stop for Juliet's first day!

The only one who had any problem with it was her Dad, Joe Mesi!

And we all went on road trips to help Hope pick out her college.  She is now a Freshman at Duquesne  University in Pittsburgh.

Marissa started a new job and is in her second year of College.  Mason got his driver's license and he started his first job.  Gainfully employed teenagers are always a good thing!

Little Joey started pre-school and he's getting cuter and smarter every day!  He got his first "big boy" bed and it sits unused next to his crib.  He makes us all smile every day!!!

Our youngest member of the family (my niece) and our littlest cowgirl, Antonella, turned 2 and we traveled to Saratoga Springs to attend her birthday party.

We continue with the family gatherings throughout the year (love when the teenagers come to visit!) and we recently celebrated Halloween together at Michelle and Joe's annual party.

This Thanksgiving I count my blessings and wish all of you a bountiful year filled with love, laughter, good health and happiness!

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving and a Joyous Holiday Season!
