This year we are thankful that our friends and family joined us earlier this month for our daughter's beautiful winter wonderland wedding in the village of Ellicottville. We welcome the newest member of our family, my new son-in-law, Matt Miller. Congratulations Jamie and Matt!
We are also thankful for a visit from our Italian cousins who arrived for their first visit to Buffalo last month after spending a few days in NYC. The time spent with them was very special as we are all descendants of the De Federicis family from Valle Vaccaro, Italy.
My father's only brother and a World War II veteran, Uncle Eugene De Federicis, turned 90 this Veteran's Day. The family celebrated with a big party and he was featured on the local news. Happy 90th Uncle Eugene - may you have many more healthy years ahead of you!!!
Unfortunately we lost a member of Joe's family - Uncle Bert - but we feel very fortunate that his family including Aunt Linda will be coming from Canada to join us for our Thanksgiving dinner this year. RIP Uncle Bert.
I am thankful for the health of my mother and this Thanksgiving both the oldest and the youngest member of our family will be at our table - my 84-year old mother Lori and my 1-year old niece Antonella.
The three teenage grandchildren are all driving now (Lord help us!) and Marissa and Hope both started their first jobs. I am so proud of the responsible young adults they are all becoming.
Big Joey turned 10 this year and spent another week with me at Italian Camp this summer helping out and learning the Italian language.
The two youngest grandchildren are as adorable as ever and are growing by leaps and bounds. My grandchildren make me smile every day!
My Wish for all of you is that you are able to spend the holidays with your loved ones, even if they are only in your hearts.
There's always room at our table for friends and family. A tavola non si invecchia! I hope you can join us.
